FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
1690 Swimwear Summer 2009 Collection
LOS ANGELES - June 23, 2008 - A breathtaking private estate perched way up on none-other-than 1690 Doheny Drive in the Hollywood Hills was the setting for the namesake swimwear’s Summer 2009 collection. Many of Hollywood’s moguls and models endured the heat-wave to sit front row at owner Brian Fitterer’s exclusive poolside party. Famed DJ Twist spun Miami-esque music, guests on hand to view the 1690 Swimwear collection sipped VeeV mojitos on Saturday, June 21, while a dozen models walked the floating runway in sexy swimwear.
The collection focused on high-fashion one-pieces and bikinis with a perfect mix of feminine-meets-flirty. Ideal for lying poolside in Miami or Monte Carlo, the embellished swimwear was anything but ordinary, particularly the metallic sequin and zebra print one-piece opener. Designer Sonia Vera used a rich interplay of colors in lilac, amber, tangerine and floral paisley. Each suit had a unique and interesting shape in bandeaus with removable straps, ruched bottoms and barely there dramatic cutout one-piece suits. The ultra-sexy collection, inspired and named after some of the hottest bodies in Hollywood, introduced cotton cover-ups in comfortable silhouettes for summer.
Sponsors for the night included LA Confidential, VeeV, Borba, Kai, and Warren-Tricomi.
1690 Swimwear, a fashion-forward high-quality affordable swimwear brand, was launched in Spring 2007 by Brian Fitterer. The collection includes Brazilian bikinis, two-piece swimsuits, and one-piece bathing suits. The price points range from $94-$124. 1690 Swimwear is sold in specialty swimwear stores and www.1690swimwear.com.
